Robert Duvall - January 5, 1931 one of my personal favorite actors of all time. Has won an Academy Award, two Emmies, and four Golden Globes. Has starred in such all time greats as The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Apocalypse Now, Tender Mercies, Lonesome Dove, and The Apostle.

Diane Keaton - January 5, 1946 a favorite American television and screen actress starred in far too many hits to enumerate. Perhaps I shall revisit and list them some day.

Clancy Brown - January 5, 1959 American actor from Urbana, Ohio. Appeared in such films as "Highlander" and "Shawshank Redemption".

Marilyn Manson - January 5, 1969 seriously, who cares? Oh, I know - Jesus.

January Jones - January 5, 1978 American actress and Abercrombie & Fitch Model. Had supporting roles in "Anger Management", "Love Actually", and "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights".

Michael Cuccione - January 5, 1985 (d. January 13, 2001) Canadian born actor who made a mark in his very too short life. Look him up - read his story.

Dyan Cannon - January 4, 1937 famous award winning American actress. Appeared in several films and shows including "Heaven Can Wait", "Allie McBeal", "Boynton Beach Club", "After The Sunset".

Michael Stipe - January 4, 1960 openly left-winged socialist liberal singer and co-founder of R.E.M. from Atlanta, Georgia.

Dave Foley - January 4, 1963 - comedian and television personality. Seen on "Saturday Night Live" and "The Jimmie Kimmel Show" among others.

Julia Ormond - January 4, 1965 British screen star named one of "People's Most Beautiful People of 1995". Appeared in screenplays such as "Legends of the Fall", "First Knight", "Sabrina", "Beach Girls", and "I Know Who Killed Me".

Deana Carter - 4 January 4, 1966 beautiful country singer who once had the pleasure of going out with the author of this blog ;) seriously. Hits from her first album "Did I Shave My Legs For This?" included "Strawberry Wine"

Maxine Angelyn Andrews - 1916 - one of the famous American singing Andrews Sisters. Famous for Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Rum And Coca-Cola, Beer Barrel Polka (Roll Out The Barrel), and Ac-cent-tchu-ate The Positive.

Victor Borge
(Børge Rosenbaum) - 1909 - musician and comedian born in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Cicero
- 106BC - still famous Roman statesman and philosopher.

Robert Loggia - 1930 - American actor in many movies and television shows including An Officer and a Gentleman (in a bit part as Richard Gere's drunken slob of a father), Scarface, Prizzi's Honor, Independence Day and Big, Jagged Edge, Mancuso, FBI, and Lost Highway (1997).

Ray Milland (Alfred Reginald Jones) - 1905 (or 07) - American actor starred in hundreds of movies. One of the most famous being Dial M For Murder (1954). He also appeared in Love Story (1970), Escape To Witch Mountain (1975), Battlestar Galactica (1978), and The Attic (1980).

Hank Stram - 1923 - famous American football coach with three AFL Championships and one Super Bowl. He was born in Chicago, Illinois.

Jim Bakker - 1939 - televangelist married to the late Tammy Fay during the 1970's and 1980's. Founder of the Praise The Lord network convicted of income tax evasion. Author of the book I Was Wrong.

Henry Bonilla - 1954 - Texas congressman 1993 to 2007.

Kate Bosworth - 1983 - actress from Los Angeles, California. Starred in Superman Returns, The Horse Whisperer and Remember the Titans.

Tia Carrere (Althea Rae Duhinio Janairo) - 1967 - actress born in Honolulu, HI. Made famous from the movie Wayne's World also starred in High School High and True Lies.

Gabrielle Carteris - 1961 - played the part of Andrea Zuckerman in Beverley Hills 90210.

Royce Clayton - 1970 - Baseball player, short stop for multiple teams since 1991

David Cone - 1964 - former professional baseball pitcher. Played with Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and New York Mets.

Taye Diggs - 1971 - How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Rent, also appeared on Will & Grace, Ally McBeal and The Guiding Light.

Cuba Gooding, Jr. - 1968 - American comedian highly popular as of this publication date. Starred in such films as Coming To America, Boyz In The Hood, Gladiator, A Few Good Men, Judgment Night, Daybreak, Outbreak, Jerry Maguire, As Good As It Gets, What Dreams May Come, Zoolander, Pearl Harbor, and Snow Dogs.

Jack Hannah - 1947 - Naturalist and host of many animal shows and films. Also known as "Jungle Jack" Hannah was born in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Dennis Hastert - 1942 - Speaker of the House (59th) Republican Congressman from Illinois.

Greg Swindell - 1965 - American baseball pitcher for 17 year career.

Born on January 1st are;

John Corzine - 1947 - Governor of New Jersey. Also famous for surviving an automobile accident while not wearing his seatbelt. Governor Corzine suffered serious head injuries in the accident.

Barry Goldwater - 1909 - Senator from Arizona and Presidential Candidate in the 1964 election. he died on May 29, 1998 of Alzheimer's.

J. Edgar Hoover - 1895 - [the book] Famous for heading the Federal Bureau of Investigation for 50 years including the Chicago Gangster and Las Vegas Gangland days. Died May 2, 1972.

Gary Earl Johnson - 1957 - Governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2002. Incidentally swearing in for the Governorship in New Mexico happens to also follow on Gary's birthday every year - January 1st.

Laura Ingraham - 1963 - Author of The Hillary Trap. She was also notably a supreme court clerk for Judge Clarence Thomas and she hosts her own talk show.

Tony Knowles - 1943 - Governor of Alaska from 1994 to 2002. Prior to being elected Governor he served as mayor of Anchorage from 1981 to 1987.

Frank Langella - 1938 - most poplar moment was starring in the movie Dracula as the main character.

James McAvoy - 1979 - most recently starred in The Chronicles of Narnia [books] [DVD] and prior to that Band of Brothers.

Bob Menendez - 1954 - Senator from New Jersey.

Charles Munger - 1924 - Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway (that makes him very, very wealthy).

Don Novello - 1943 - Father Guido Sarducci made famous on Saturday Night Live.

Ron Perelman - 1943. Don't know him? Ever hear of Revlon? He owns controlling interest - 60% of Revlon.

Paul Revere - 1743 - One if by land, two if by sea. Ever hear of Paul Revere's Ride? Oh, and he made silver, too. Unfortunately Paul rides no more. He passed on May 10, 1818 long before most of you were born.

Betsy Ross - 1752 - She is famous for but she may not have designed and sewn the first United States flag.

John Sullivan - 1965 - Oklahoma congressman.
